Accessorize with bright colors, add some liveliness with bold shoes and handbags. If you don’t have a bright handbag or shoe add a blazer or any other bright accessory that you may have.

Body shapes.. Which one are you??


Apple(diamond/oval) shaped celebrites: Queen Latifah, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Hudson

Apple/ Diamond/ Oval body shape

This shape is a little different because there are two body shapes that can be referred to as an apple shape. Which is the Diamond and Oval body shape simply because they have the appearance of being round in the torso area, undefined waist and large stomach. The way you can tell them apart is how the stomach sits for instance if you have a high stomach you are a diamond shape, if you have a low stomach your an oval shape. Most of your weight accumulates above the hips, which are narrow. Your back, ribs and shoulders are broad, you may feel wider than any other body types. You want to create the illusion of a longer inverted triangle body shape. Draw attention upwards toward your shoulders and face. Balance your shoulders and bust with your hips while creating a waist. Choose clothing that adds curves and fullness to your upper body with appropriate clothing cuts and choosing pants and skirts that will lean and lengthen your lower body. Some key body features are that you have a large bust, narrow hips and a full midsection. You have a tendency to gain weight in your stomach, back and upper body. Your waist is undefined and can be the widest part of your frame. Your buttocks are somewhat flat and your legs are slender which is your best asset.

Elongate your midsection and create the illusion of a defined/smaller waistline

Do go for the monochromatic look

Do wear V-neck tops to create the illusion of a longer torso

Do wear a bra that offers good lift and support

Do wear belts at the smallest part of your waist

Do wear shorter skirts to show off your legs and draw attention away from your midsection

Don’t wear fabrics with large patterns

Don’t wear high necklines

Don’t clingy fabrics

Embellishments around the bust and shoulders

Pants with legs that fall straight from the widest part of your hip

Choose dark colored bottoms

Cargo or safari pants with pronounced hip and rear pockets

Straps that sit mid shoulder or strapless suits

A-line skirts that skim your body without adding volume

Suits that are light/patterned at the bust and dark at the waist and hips

Tankinis and one piece suits with hourglass prints

Suits with wrap or crisscross details

Bottoms with hip details such as ties
